LENS OR LESS

Hi Starsss!! 🀍πŸ’₯

I can’t believe this is our first convo this year.

I’ve missed you guys so much πŸ₯Ί

So… what have I been up to?

Honestly, I’ve been drawing in from everything around me — unfolding stronger versions of myself. And yet, the child-like version of me still pops up every now and then, grinning from ear to ear, taking risks, cramming big drug names, and getting to know more microorganisms than macro-organisms (thanks to Path and Pharm).

Send help, plssss 😭

And you? How are you doing?

I hope you’re actually meeting more macro-organisms (actual human beings, for clarity) instead of microbes — don’t be like meeee πŸ˜‚

I guess we all did Basic Science at some point in primary or junior school and had to learn about microorganisms. You know — organisms that can’t be seen with our naked eyes except with the use of a microscope.

Like… why were they stressing us with things we can’t even see? And why did some people decide to make such a big deal out of it and turn it into an entire field that’s now an integral part of our health and well-being as humans?

But Tee… what’s all this talk about microbes today?

Here’s the thing:

There is MORE beyond the lens of our eyes. And if we fail to look further, we limit the lengths we can go and the heights we can climb.

Maybe this post is for that one person who has been micro-viewing their potential. You feel so small, yet you carry so much inside you. That popular saying, “You can only go as far as you can see,” is actually very true.

Sometimes, the magnifying lens we need is faith. With faith, you don’t see the bigger picture from the very first step, but the pathway becomes clearer with each move you make.

Other times, the magnifying lens we need is people. Funny how others can see the “more” in us even when we can’t. A nudge, a word of encouragement, an honest review — all these can help us see further.

I’ve observed that many people doing so well in their chosen fields didn’t start out seeing the bigger picture. But with each step, they realized there was actually… more.

Twitter is my favorite app (forget the drama and gbas gbos 😭). I follow way more people than those who follow me( lol, these are the days of humble beginning oo), and I honestly don’t mind. The quality of people I follow makes it worth it — people doing great things across academics, entertainment, writing, culinary arts, creative spaces… name it.

In this same system and environment, young people are doing all these and more?

Personally, it reminds me that I  really can’t settle for less. There is so much more.

 You are not a 'micro-organism'!

Stop seeing yourself, your brand, your skills and your potential as infinitesimal. There is room for growth, improvement, and bigger goals. Next time you see a microscope, let it remind you that there is MORE.

Going forward this year, don’t let yourself be a limitation to yourself. Fear of speaking up, anxiety, self-doubt, comparison — all these can cloud your vision and make you act small (my inner mind is giving me side-eyes too).

If you can overthink the worst, why can’t you overthink the best?

Well… chew on that.

But let’s be honest with ourselves.

What are you currently doing with what you already have in your hands?

Your hands are not empty. In fact, no one has an empty hand.

You may not have everything, but you probably have more than enough.

The five loaves of bread and two small fishes didn’t look like they could feed 5,000 men — and yet they did.

The little oil the widow had left didn’t look like it could multiply and sustain her — but it did.

(These are biblical stories, for context.)

One thing I’ve realized this month is that it’s only when we make good use of what we already have that God makes room for more.

So again, I ask:

What are you planning to do with what’s already in your hands?

……

Whew. What a long read πŸ˜…

Thank you for staying till the very end.

Pls, don't forget to share and drop your honest feedbacks. Looking forward to hearing from you always ❤️

P.S: I subconsciously feel like I said “more” about a thousand times in this post πŸ˜‚

But that’s the point — to make it stick.

My fellow Superstars, expect more from this space this year 🀍
